Coupons are discounts manually applied by the end-consumer via coupon code on a commerce site.

Coupon Details

Basic information about the coupon

  • Coupon title - The name of the coupon
  • ‌Start/End Date & Time - The date and time when the coupon becomes active/expires; during coupon creation, the system automatically takes the local time by default.
  • Is this coupon(s) stackable? - Defines whether the coupon can be used in the same cart with promotions 
  • Multiple-use coupon codes - Codes that can be used multiple times by multiple shoppers (i.e. Summer20)
  • Single-use coupon codes - Coupon codes that can be used only once; these are provided as a list that can be distributed to shoppers

 

SKU selection

Defines product coupon eligibility

  • Inclusion list - List of SKUs that the coupon can be applied to 
  • Exclusion list - List of SKUs that the coupon cannot be applied to 
  • All SKUs - All the SKUs in the system are coupon-eligible

 

Coupon Settings

Defines coupon type 

  • Product / SKU - Coupon is applied to the value of a specific SKU(s)
  • Cart value - Coupon is applied based on the value of the cart
  • Quantity - Coupon is applied based on the total number of valid SKUs in the cart
  • Buy / Get - Shoppers 'get' a benefit when they meet the 'buy' criteria (i.e. Buy 1 table, Get 6 chairs 50% off)

 

Coupon Usage

Allows limiting of coupon usage

  • Limit coupon usage per customer - Defines the number of times a coupon code can be redeemed by a particular customer
  • Limit coupon usage site-wide - Defines the number of times a coupon code can be redeemed overall

 

Customer segmentation

Defines who can use a coupon code

  • Registered user: Customer with a registered account
  • All customers: Anyone can use the coupon

 

Status

The coupon's redemption eligibility

  • Upcoming - Coupon can be redeemed at a future start date & time
  • Active - Coupon is currently eligible for redemption
  • Expired - Coupon can no longer be redeemed
  • Disabled - Coupon cannot be redeemed until its status is updated to active

 

Last modified

The date & time the coupon was modified last

Step 1: Click Create Coupon on the Coupon page

Step 2: Complete required coupon information

  • Coupon Details
    • Coupon Title
    • Start date and time
    • End date and time
    • Is this coupon(s) stackable?
      • Yes - The coupon can be applied with other promotions/coupons in the cart
      • No - The coupon cannot be applied with other promotions/coupons in the cart
    • Coupon usage 
      • Multiple-use coupon - Coupon code must be provided
      • Single-use coupon - Provide the following details
        • Prefix - A prefix to the coupon code. Example: "WIN"; alphabetical characters only
        • Total coupon count - The number of coupon codes to be generated; must be greater than 1
        • Starting number - A starting number for the coupon code (e.g. 200)
        • Single-use coupon codes will be generated based on the parameters above (e.g. WIN200, WIN201, etc)
  • SKU selection
    • Inclusion List
    • Exclusion List
    • All SKUs

Step 3: Complete optional coupon information

  • Usage restrictions
    • Limit coupon use per customer

    • Note: Limits are infinite by default

Step 4: Click Schedule

  1. Within the Coupon creation screen, indicate whether you want to create an Inclusion list OR an Exclusion list in the SKU selection section
  2. Click the Browse SKUs link
  3. Select the SKUs you want to include or exclude
    • Note: The drop-down at the left of the screen allows you to navigate available SKUsUse the Select the criteria from the dropdown.
      • All SKUs - Select SKU(s) individually
      • Categories/Sub-categories - Add entire categories/sub-categories
      • Attribute name/value - Add all products meeting selected attribute criteria
  4. Click Include SKUs / Add

  1. Within the Coupon creation screen, indicate whether you want to create an Inclusion list OR an Exclusion list in the SKU selection section
  2. Click the Bulk Upload SKUs button
  3. Upload SKUs in .csv format (template can be downloaded within the Offers)
  4. Click Upload file

Note: 

  • After the file has been uploaded, the system will confirm if there were any errors in the uploaded file.  Errors can be downloaded in .csv format, corrected, and re-uploaded, following the steps above.
  • Parent SKU IDs are not allowed in the .csv file for bulk upload; only the product without the variant ID and the variant SKU ID will be accepted

Once SKUs, categories, and attributes are selected or uploaded, they are listed in the SKU selection section, along with the count of each.   You can remove any item by clicking on the X next to the name in the chip. 

Note: Changing the Target SKUs radio button after SKUs have been added will delete the inclusion/exclusion list data.

  1. Click on the Coupon you want to modify on the Coupon listing page
  2. Update the Coupon information OR Click Delet
    • Enable / Disable
    • Coupon details
      • Coupon Title
      • Start date and time
      • End date and time
      • Stackability
      • Coupon usage
        • Note: Single-use coupon Prefix, Starting number, and Total coupon count can only be changed when the coupon is in scheduled state. They cannot be modified when the Coupon is in an Active or Expired state
    • SKU selection
      • Add/Remove eligible SKUs
      • Note: Changing the radio button among the available options will remove the current SKU inclusion/exclusion selections
    • Coupon settings (coupon type or discount value)
    • Usage limitations (by customer or sitewide)
    • Customer segmentation
    • Terms & conditions
  3. Click Update 

Note:

  • Expired coupons cannot be updated
  • Active and Expired coupons cannot be deleted

  1. On the Coupon listing screen, hover over the Coupon you want to clone and click on the three vertical dots that appear at the right
  2. Click Duplicate coupon
  3. Complete Coupon information
    • Coupon details will need to be completed
    • All other information will be copied from the cloned coupon
  4. Click Schedule

While creating a coupon user needs to define on what price list the coupon should be validated. Users can choose one/some/all price lists for every coupon created in the Fabric Offers tool.

  1. SKU(s) coupon is applied
    1. Since the coupon can be applicable on one/some/all price lists, every SKU will be validated based on the price list it is attached to.
    2. If the SKU coupon is valid for both SKU and its price list then %/$ discount will be given accordingly. 
  2. Cart value coupon is applied
    1. Since the coupon can be applicable on one/some/all price lists and cart can have multiple SKUs from different price lists, the SKUs in the cart will be divided into multiple carts according to their price list.
    2. These multiple carts (each different price list) then will have an individual cart value.
    3. The applied coupon will be validated against each cart value individually and if the coupon is valid, the cart will get a discount
      1. Percent/Amount discount is applied based on the weighted average of the price of the SKUs of each price list in the cart.
  3. Quantity coupon is applied
    1. Since the coupon can be applicable on one/some/all price lists and cart can have multiple SKUs from different price lists, the SKUs in the cart will be divided into multiple carts according to their price list.
    2. These multiple carts (each different price list) then will have different quantities of SKUs to be validated.
    3. The applied coupon will be validated against quantities of SKUs in these multiple carts and if the coupon is valid, the cart will get a discount
      1. Percent/Amount discount is applied based on the weighted average of the price of the SKUs of each price list in the cart.
